$182,369 Raised
At the Moose Jaw Health Foundation and 800 CHAB family comes first. Donations to the 7th Annual Family First Radiothon will provide the best labour and delivery equipment in Canada for the nursery of Moose Jaw’s brand new hospital:
Did You Know?
- Our current hospital delivered nearly 600 babies last year.
- The number of pregnancy outpatient assessments (stress tests, ultrasounds) has doubled in the last five years to 1,600.
- The new hospital will feature a Level 2 Nursery that helps keep newborns that require extra care and monitoring close to home. The new Level 2 nursery will feature Panda Beds, isolettes, phototherapy for jaundice, intravenous drips and electronic monitoring.
The birth of a new child is one of the most wonderful experiences in life, but sometimes complications can occur. Moose Jaw Health Foundation needs your help to equip our new hospital’s nursery with the best medical equipment in Canada to assist doctors and nurses in delivering healthy babies.
The need is growing – nearly 600 babies born at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital – a 10% increase over last year.
The Moose Jaw Health Foundation needs your help to raise over $150,000 for new medical equipment to help deliver babies in safety and comfort. Please donate to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation and 800 CHAB on May 2nd and May 3rd to help equip the new nursery, so that medical professionals can deliver one of the most unforgettable moments of life – a new baby.
Each and every dollar raised in Moose Jaw stays in our community to help newborns in the new nursery get the best start in life with the latest medical technology such as:
Transport Isolette is needed for sick, premature or critically ill babies that need to be moved from our hospital to another with a neonatal intensive care area for specialized treatment. A transport isolette would provide a safe, controlled transportable microenvironment for premature and low-birth weight neonates. The investment required is $28,000. One is needed.
Panda Bed will provide the medical teams a significant advantage to help babies that require special attention. The innovative design with built-in x-ray holder and resuscitation systems maximizes the labour and delivery team’s ability to help when every second counts. The innovative micro environment minimizes unnecessary movement to the infant, while maximizing the medical team’s ability to perform invasive, life enhancing services. One is needed and the investment required is $32,000.
Birthing Bed designed to provide moms-to-be with maximum comfort and healthcare professionals with ease-of-use. The new beds provide the latest features to easily adjust to the patient’s comfort requirements and medical service needs of the labour and delivery teams. One is required and the investment needed is $28,000.
Paediatric crib will support the safe and efficient care of the newborn while the warm friendly appearance cultivates a healing environment for the child. Each paediatric crib investment is $12,000 and two are needed.
Combination Oxygen & Vital Signs Monitors are needed to provide instant information about a baby’s state of health 24 hours of the day. Healthcare professionals will be able to instantly assess the condition of the baby and how well they are responding. Medical professionals in the nursery will have immediate access to a baby’s body temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, blood pressure and oxygen. Four are needed. Each monitor requires a $4,000 investment.
Family Sleeper Chairs will provide a place for caring family members to stay close by mother and new baby during the night in comfort. Converting easily between seating and sleeping positions, this chair offers a premium level of comfort for supportive family members to be right there during this special moment. The investment required for each of these chairs is $3,000 and six are needed.
A Panda Bed for babies with health challenges; transport isolette for safe movement of critically ill babies to a NICU; vital signs monitors to provide 24 hour monitoring of a baby’s condition; a state-of-the-art birthing bed for the safe delivery of each new baby; paediatric cribs to provide a warm environment for newborns; and comfortable sleeper chairs for supportive family members. Please help the 800 CHAB Family First Radiothon on May 2nd and May 3rd at the Town ‘N’ Country Mall for 36 hours in equipping our new hospital’s nursery because the “Future is Now”!
