Mosaic Concert of Hope

Johnny Reid 2013

Those who didn’t know Johnny Reid before stepping into The Mae Wilson Theater definitely knew who he was when they left.

As the guest performer for this year’s Mosaic Concert of Hope presented by Casino Moose Jaw, the multi-platinum recording artist gave 430 Moose Javians an intimate performance they will be talking about for weeks to come.

Barrie Vice from Golden West Radio, a stage 4 cancer survivor was MC for the event and did a marvelous job.  Sharing stories, laughs and at one point his microphone with one lucky audience member, Reid proved that not only did he know how to put on a show, but that he was the perfect performer for the Concert of Hope.

With the help of Reid, the generous contributions made by Mosaic and all of this year’s sponsors, not to mention the incredible support shown by the community, the Concert of Hope committee was more than thrilled to reveal the $279,500 check for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation to provide funding to the Health Region for the purchase of the CR Reader.

This state-of-the-art piece of equipment will convert film based x-rays into digital images, which will help medical professionals better detect cancerous tumors and abnormalities.
