Hospitals can be a scary place for kids, but because of the generosity of Foundation donors, newly renovated rooms and medical equipment, there are many more bright smiles in the Paediatrics Ward.

Each year over 1,500 children in Moose Jaw and surrounding area will utilize the services of the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital Pediatrics unit.  The Moose Jaw Health Foundation began a campaign in 2008 through the first 800 CHAB Family First Radiothon to revitalize the Paediatrics Unit.  From the Radiothon came new flooring, four new rooms, nursing station, multi-functional storage facility and medical equipment.  The Moose Jaw Warriors and McDonald’s restaurant then partnered together to create a themed Moose Jaw Warriors Room.  The Moose Jaw Businessmen’s Club created two themed Saskatchewan Roughrider rooms, Canadian Tire has created the Snowbirds Room and the Little Princess Ball committee has created the Princess Room.

Now with the new Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital a new era of healthcare of state-of-the-art healthcare is available to children and their families.  Large private rooms so parents can stay with their children with the latest medical equipment.  Each year many donors and organizations contribute urgently needed funding to purchase medical equipment to help children on their road to recovery.  For more information on how you can create another success story at our new regional  hospital, please contact Kelly McElree, Executive Director of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation at 694-0255 or
