Operating Rooms
This year over 4,000 surgical procedures will be performed by high skilled surgical teams in the operating theatres at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.
The outstanding level of surgical care provided in Moose Jaw is only possible with Health Foundation donor’s support. Each and every donation makes a difference in the lives of patients. Without donor support the Foundation would not have been able to fund the purchase of: a state-of-the-art endoscopy processor and light source to detect cancer with a high degree of accuracy; hydraulic operating tables to provide unrestricted access to patients and reduce medical professional injuries; a high resolution guided ultrasound system to aid medical professionals in the insertion of life-saving medicine during surgery; electrocautery machines to seal incisions; anaesthetic machines, crash carts and the best minimally invasive surgical instruments in Canada.
Donors do make the difference at our hospital. Only through their on-going support has our local hospital been able to have access to leading edge surgical technology that has dramatically improved patient care. In addition, the most advanced surgical equipment aids in the recruitment and retention of new surgeons and specialists.
New surgical equipment saves lives; patients recover quicker; they feel less pain; scarring is reduced; have lower risk of infection than with traditional surgical procedures; and they can go home sooner. Thank you Health Foundation donors for making this possible.
