The Opportunity

Every day, patients arrive at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Some are recovering from surgery. Some are receiving treatment for serious illness. Some are healing after an injury. Others are welcoming a new child into the world or receiving care at the end of life.While every patient journey is unique, nearly all share one common experience. They spend time in a hospital bed.

It is where treatment begins. It is where recovery takes place. It is where families gather, healthcare professionals provide care, and hope is restored. A hospital bed is one of the most essential pieces of equipment in the hospital and plays a critical role in patient comfort, dignity, safety, and healing.

Why This Matters

Each year, more than 4,226 patients are admitted to Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. These patients range from children to seniors. They come from Moose Jaw and communities throughout south-central Saskatchewan. They arrive for a planned surgery, unexpectedly through the Emergency Department, or for treatment of serious medical conditions.

Modern hospital beds are designed to improve patient comfort, support healing, enhance mobility, reduce the risk of injury, and provide greater dignity throughout a patient's stay. They also help healthcare professionals deliver safer and more efficient care.

For many patients, a hospital bed becomes their home away from home during a time of uncertainty, healing, and recovery. It is where they rest after surgery, receive treatment, regain their strength, and find comfort in the presence of loved ones.
