Imaging a Brighter Future

The Moose Jaw Health Foundation is thrilled to announce its latest fundraising campaign, "Imaging a Brighter Future: Raising Funds for Breast Cancer MRI & Surgical Technology." This initiative aims to bring an advanced Philips MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Breast Coil for the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital's MRI and surgical technology to our hospital, enhancing early detection and diagnosis capabilities for breast cancer for Moose Jaw and surrounding communities.

Every day in Saskatchewan, two women are diagnosed with breast cancer.  Men can also be diagnosed with breast cancer. Early detection plays a crucial role in improving treatment outcomes. The addition of an MRI Breast Coil to the hospital's current MRI will significantly enhance our ability to detect breast cancer, providing patients with more treatment options and a higher chance of successful outcomes.

By hosting a series of fundraising events including Festival of Trees, engaging community partnerships, and launching a direct donation campaign, the Moose Jaw Health Foundation seeks to raise the necessary funds to raise over $150,000 to acquire and install the state-of-the-art breast cancer MRI upgrade and surgical tool technology. The advanced imaging capabilities of the Philips MRI breast coil will enable our medical professionals to achieve higher accuracy by complimenting mammography in identifying tumors, evaluating their size, and determining the extent of cancer spread.

The "Imaging a Brighter Future" campaign encourages individuals, businesses, and philanthropists passionate about improving breast cancer diagnostics to contribute and make a difference. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to our fundraising goal and provide vital support to breast cancer patients in our community.

Ryan Hrechka, Chair of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation stated, "The introduction of the Philips Breast Cancer MRI Coil will be a game-changer for medical staff and patients. It will enable healthcare professionals to detect breast cancer earlier, provide more accurate diagnoses, and ultimately save lives. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community as we embark on this important fundraising journey together."

The "Imaging a Brighter Future: Raising Funds for Breast Cancer MRI and Surgical Technology" campaign invites everyone to join hands in supporting this crucial initiative. Together, we can make a significant impact on breast cancer care and contribute to a brighter future for patients and their families.
